Reconstruction of an administrative building into a student dorm

The project represents the reconstruction of an administrative building into a modern student dormitory. The building is located in the lively district of Studentski Grad, facing blvd. St. Kliment Ohridski. Accessible by car, bike and on foot, the building enjoys a seamless connection to the busy boulevard.

The structure consists of two sections, each with seventeen and eighteen floors above ground. Built with large-area formwork and reinforced concrete walls, the building was exceptionally preserved during the reconstruction, which strengthened the newly planned openings in the facade and internal walls.

The basement level has various basic amenities including a lobby, storage rooms, and a social area for youth activities which houses a sauna, steam room, relaxation areas and changing rooms. The ground floor welcomes visitors with an entrance, lobby, doorman and a mix of bedroom suites and creative studios. Each floor above maintains a clear height of 2.60m and offers additional living spaces.

The modern appearance of the building is designed with clean volumetric forms, with a facade solution harmonizing with the surrounding urban environment. The high window openings bring in light and reveal beautiful views of the city and Vitosha. The placement of the windows in the interior layout adds visual interest to the facade. The monochrome color palette emphasizes the modern appeal of the building.

With a total of 101 beds, 50 creative studios and 99 bedroom apartments, this building offers an unparalleled combination of style, functionality and convenience, providing a living and working environment that keeps pace with the modern world.
