Archaeological complex

The late antique mausoleum is located on Dimitar Hadzhikotsev street, in the immediate vicinity of the picturesque Yuzhen Park. The historical monument is a testimony to the rich history of our capital. Dating back to the 4th century, the mausoleum is believed to have been a part of a suburban estate of a high-ranking Serdician citizen. It is assumed that it was the final resting place for him and his family.

Today, this archaeological site integrates with the modern urban landscape, providing visitors with a fascinating historical and cultural experience.

The complex has basic amenities such as security, an information center and a souvenir shop, all protected by a canopy that harmoniously combines the ancient and the modern. Families can enjoy a well-equipped children's playground on the east side of the site, while the south-east has an outdoor exhibition area with outdoor seating. An elegantly landscaped walkway, decorated with a fountain and a wrought iron fence, connects the two entrances. Carefully selected trees and shrubs complement the atmosphere of the site, enhancing the architectural elements and the microclimate.

In the late antique mausoleum, history comes alive in a harmonious combination of past and present, culture and natural beauty.
